“Ever since I was a little kid, I knew I wanted to attend Clemson University. Once I got there, I knew I wanted to get involved as much as I could. I did 3 major things my freshman year; I joined Clemson’s student government, participated in Miss Vietnam of the Carolinas, and joined the ASA family. All three made a huge impact on my college experience so far. Joining student government was my way of giving back to a place that already gave me so much. I got to meet other students that were involved in other organizations and work together to better our school. Participating in Miss Vietnam was such a rewarding experience. Not only did I become more involved in my Vietnamese culture and step outside my comfort zone, I got to meet AMAZING individuals from other Southeast VSA organizations and one Mid-Atlantic one! They became my pageant family and some of my closest friends. Finally, I knew coming to Clemson that I wanted to be a part of ASA because I think it’s an amazing organization that allows you to meet other individuals who are passionate about Asian cultures. I decided to run for the PR position for ASA because I wanted to be more involved in an organization that not only introduced me to kindhearted loving people but made me appreciate my culture even more (and it’s fun to slide into people’s DMs). All three of these clubs/experiences have helped to shape me into who I am today, and I’m so grateful for all the opportunities that each have presented me. I can’t wait to get even more involved!
